She practices Civil /Commercial Litigation, Conveyancing, Probate & Administration, Marriage & Divorce, Bodily Injury Claims, Medical Negligence and general laws.
Ava Rachel Low commenced her early practice in year 2011 after she was called to the Malaysian Bar with her admission entered on the Roll on 11th November 2011. She read law with the University of Reading, Reading, United Kingdom and graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2009. She completed the Bar Vocational Course with City University London in London, U.K and she was called to the English Bar as the Barrister-at-law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London United Kingdom in October 2010. She returned to Malaysia to commence her pupillage with Shook Lin & Bok Malaysia.
After her early robes of practice with Shook Lin & Bok Malaysia, she has had the opportunity to learn and expand her practice areas with a few established firms such as conveyancing practice with Raja Eleena, Siew Ang & Associates in 2012; general insurance, professional indemnity insurance & banking litigation with Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong in 2013; and civil, non-motor insurance, medical negligence and divorce claims with Murali B. Pillai & Associates and non-motor insurance with K.S. Ong in 2015, general litigation practice & partnership with Serena Paul Naveen & Associates in 2017 and general litigation with Burton Tan, Syazwan & Co. in Johore in 2020. She’s also had worked in-house for legal work experience in advisory and risk management work with a public listed company KNM Group Berhad in Procurement and Risk Management in the areas of engineering and construction contracts, employment law and insurance law in 2016.
Practice Experience
She practices and attained her legal experience in the following litigation matters up to the Appellate Courts:
A. She advises and attends to general and civil litigation matters relating to negligence, trespass to land, family and divorce law, tenancy law, employment and labour matters.
B. She advises and attends to general and banking litigation matters relating to performance bond, freezing of customers’ account, bankruptcy and winding up.
C. She advises and attends to insurance litigation matters relating to legal professional negligence, medical negligence, contractors’ negligence, breach of contract matters and personal injury claims.
D. She advises and attends to company related matters relating to oil and gas company licensing dispute, construction contracts, breach of contract matters, debt recovery, bankruptcy and winding up proceedings.
E. She advises and attends to agreements crafting and corporate related matters.
F. She advises and attends to Conveyancing practice as well as Probate & Administration with Land Offices.
G. She advises and attends to Criminal Law, i.e. Bail Applications at the Magistrates & Sessions Court.
